Keeping the hunt in hunting dogs
Pictured at left is GCH CH Lone Ridge Hula Girl at Heart JH BCAT. Hula is a lovely representative of her breed. She is a beautiful girl with correct conformation and coat and a wonderful temperament. She's smart and has the mental toughness for advanced hunt training in preparation for testing in NAVHDA Utility and AKC Senior Hunter in 2025. Hula has also participated in nosework training and enjoys rally and obedience classes. She earned her Fast Cat BCAT title in one fun weekend, showing off her drive and athleticism.
Is that a Gordon Setter?
Absolutely! This is Jasi, Andelle's Summer Breeze in Osage JH, shown by her breeder, Amy Perez, at the Gordon Setter National Specialty in September 2024 in Marshall, Michigan. Jasi placed fourth in a competitive Bred by Exhibitor class under esteemed judge Wayne Cavanaugh.
A Gordon Setter was on my bucket list, and when I met a breeder who had show Gordon Setters that hunted, with a baby girl looking for a show home, I knew Jasi was meant to be mine.
Jasi earned her AKC Junior Hunter title in one weekend with four consecutive passing legs. (I saw the looks on the judges' faces when my beautiful, showy Gordon Setter hopped out of her crate. She won them over with her classic Gordon style!) She also has the first 5-point major toward her AKC conformation championship.
Titles Matter
Having dogs evaluated in the show ring and the field is important. Somebody besides me thinks my dogs are correct and can do the job for which they were bred. Time and effort have been invested in training, grooming, and presenting my dogs.
I've met great people and seen beautiful places along the way.
